Did you all have a chance to enjoy Lips Appreciation Day on March 16? I sure did, but then I appreciate lips every day (wink!), and I wouldn’t be surprised if most of you do too.
I’m curious though … how many of you immediately thought of kissing as soon as you read “lips appreciation”? That’s not surprising—especially if you’re a romantic diehard like me! However, our lips are capable of doing oh so many other wonderful things that we often take for granted. Our lips can pucker, purse, pout, lick, bite, chew, read, taste, part, blow, move and, let’s not forget, the most important, which is “SMILE.”
Victor Borge once said, “Laughter is the shortest distance between two people.” I prefer my version: “A smile is the shortest distance between two people.”
A smile is a perfect icebreaker. It also releases endorphins in our brains which contribute to an overall feeling of well-being and contentment. It also helps raise self-esteem in both the giver and the receiver. A smile is without borders. I believe Mother Teresa said it best:
Smile at each other, smile at your wife, smile at your husband, smile at your children, smile at each other—it doesn’t matter who it is—and that will help you to grow up in greater love for each other.

“Remember to smile for you never know when someone may be falling in love with your smile!”
Don’t think it, say it! The next time you’re about to kiss your sweetheart, why not lead with saying, “I love your tantalizing, soft, sensual, kissable lips.”
See you in two weeks!
